Walker has had many notable achievements during his career with NABIP. Here is a sampling.

1. Georgia Access-ln 2019 Walker met then Secretary of State for Georgia, Brian Kemp as he was campaigning to become Georgia’s next Governor. Knowing that Health Care and Medicaid expansion would be an important issue in the election. Mychal positioned the thought, provided information and resources needed to inform the soon to be Governor about the 1332 Wavier and reinsurance program as a vehicle and a tool to utilize, in combatting the uninsured issue in Georgia. The result is, the Governor applied for a 1332 Wavier and a reinsurance program, onFebruary 15, 2023, the Georgia Insurance Commissioner informed Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services that Georgia is going to create its own State based Exchange. The added benefit is that Walker was able to negotiate that Independent Agents and Brokers, NABIP Georgia Chapter members will be in partnership with Georgia Access to help deliver the access to health care in Georgia.
2. OnMed– Walker developed a relationship with the CEO of a company that focuses on delivering access to health care to the uninsured and particularly, the uninsured in rural America.

These are just a few examples of Walker’s leadership that encapsulates his Bold, Innovative and Visionary approach to addressing issues that relates to the financing of Healthcare and making it more accessible to those that do not have access to Healthcare.
